Parish Church of St James
It is located in the west of the Fortress – Palace of the Marques de Dos Aguas. It was finished by the architect Pedro Cambra in 1778. He sent builder Patricio Berenguer to put in the last stone in that year. It has a single nave, stone columns with arches decorated with frescos.
Inside there is an altar erected to St James, the baptistery decorated with fine frescos by Eusebio Sempere and the chapel “Nostremar Senyor Robat”. You will also see the blessed stained glass windows depicting the events of “Nostremar Senyor Robat” of Onil. Alongside passes the “Camino de Santiago Southeast”.
